RAJESH G. PATEL, M.D., F.C.C.P. – Curriculum Vita


Dr. Patel is highly recognized within his field. He is a researcher and a teacher and has authored and co-authored dozens of articles, abstracts and presentations. His primary research interests include Weaning from Mechanical Ventilation, Work of Breathing, Invasive Bronchoscopy, Airway Management in Critically Ill Patients, Dyspnea and Cardiopulmonary Exercise Testing and Hemodynamics and Oxygenation Calculation.

After attending medical school at the Ramaiah Medical College at Bangalore University in India, Dr. Patel did his residency at the Coney Island Hospital in New York before coming to Jackson in 1992 to practice at the University of Mississippi Medical Center. He currently has licensure in three states and serves as an ACLS instructor, the Director of the Medical Intensive and Coronary Care Unit at the G. V. (Sonny) Montgomery V. A. Medical Center, a Staff Pulmonologist at the G. V. (Sonny) Montgomery V. A. Medical Center, and as Assistant Professor of Medicine at the University of Mississippi Medical Center; all in Jackson, Mississippi.

Dr. Patel is an invited speaker, award winner and serves as a member or chairman on several committees.
